Stacey Solomon has lifted the lid on a crafty behind-the-scenes trick used by the makers of Gogglebox.
The Loose Women star shared a story on Instagram that showed her fiancé Joe Swash and father David Solomon sat on sofas at her £1,200,000 Essex mansion while they were filming the hit Channel 4 reality series during the day.
But things were not quite as they seemed, as the 32-year-old told her 5.3m followers that the producers ‘have to black out all the windows so it looks like night-time’.
Filming her living room which is painted white and has beams in the ceiling, Stacey’s footage showed black covering had been stuck with white masking tape over her French doors, making the lighting in the room look dark.
Stacey’s caption said: ‘Now we are filming Gogglebox, they black it all out because it’s too bright outside. Grandad is on pickle watch but right now he’s just eating our snacks.’
The former X Factor contestant also revealed on the post that her dad was ‘here on babysitting duties eating all of our snacks.’
Stacey has a busy summer lined up as, alongside taking part in Celebrity Gogglebox, she is preparing for her upcoming nuptials to Joe, 40.
It has been a long-time coming as the couple became engaged in December 2020 but had to postpone their wedding due to the pandemic and Stacey’s pregnancy.
The mum-of-four will tie the knot with Joe on July 25 at their mansion, which she has given a makeover including creating a gorgeous welcome sign and a quirky tea wall.
Stacey and Joe met for the very first time on the set of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Here! in the 2010 series in which she was crowned the winner.
They now share two children together: a baby girl called Rose and a son called Rex, while Stacey also has two older sons and is stepmum to Joe’s son from a previous relationship.
Gogglebox airs Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4 and is available to watch on All4.
