A Sky News anchor is hosting her farewell show today after leaving the channel after seven years.
Kimberley Leonard, the channel’s newsreader, startled viewers over the weekend when she announced her departure to pursue a “new adventure.”
Taking to X – formerly known as Twitter – she wrote: ‘I’m leaving Sky News and heading off on a new adventure.’
In her post on Saturday, she confirmed she would be back over the following two days for her final Sky News shifts.
She added: ‘More info on that to come – but please join me for #Breakfast tomorrow and mid-morning on Monday for my last shifts. And please do send pictures of where you’re watching from.’
On Monday morning, she added: ‘With you for one last time! 1000-1400UK. Have just seen how many of you watched yesterday – thank you! K x’

Ahead of her final broadcast, Sky News political correspondent Amanda Akass responded: ‘Oh no Kimberley so sorry you’re leaving us! Best of luck with your next adventures xx’
‘All the best Kim. You have been amazing and lovely watching you on TV,’ one follower replied, while another fan added: ‘A sad day for viewers, but good luck to you in your next role.’
And a third person said: ‘All the best on your new adventure, Kimberly! ✨’
Another longtime viewer shared a screenshot of Kimberley’s Monday morning broadcast, and she replied: ‘A testament to the reach of @skynews – every day @TheRafey joins us from the other side of the world! Thank you for your company and your support R – and it was lovely to actually meet you in person in KL!
As she prepared for her final two shifts, fans swamped her initial post with expressions of encouragement.
‘Good luck with your new adventures, Kimberley. Sky won’t be the same without you,’ one person wrote, as a second said: ‘So excited to see where you go next Kimberley.’
