After news of Kim Cattrall’s And Just Like That cameo sent Sex and the City fans into a frenzy, a fellow cast member has taken a shot at her.
The 66-year-old Canadian actress, born in Liverpool, rose to fame after portraying public relations guru Samantha in the groundbreaking US series.
Rumours of a quarrel between Kim and fellow Sex and the City actress Sarah Jessica Parker, 58, surfaced following the show’s termination in the mid-2000s.
This meant Kim was unable to participate in the revival of And Just Like That, but in shocking news, she confirmed she’d be making a guest appearance in forthcoming episodes.
However, fellow Sex and the City cast member Evan Handler has taken a sly jab at his former co-star since then.
Speaking to People, Evan didn’t sound pleased with her return: ‘Apparently [her cameo] was shot in a garage somewhere with no contact with anybody.’
He continued, confirming he never interacted with Kim during filming: ‘The only place I have to welcome her is into my living room when it airs on television.’
Furthermore, Evan confessed that he found out about Samantha’s homecoming on June 2, the same day everyone else did, when Kim verified the news on Instagram.
Evan rose to prominence on the first series as Harry Goldenblatt, Charlotte’s husband, and returned his role in the current series.
He appeared in the middle of the series as Charlotte’s divorce lawyer, before they fell in love and married.
When it was announced that Kim would be returning her role, fans rejoiced, but fresh facts may take some of the lustre off her comeback.
Samantha will also appear in the final episode of the current season, so fans will have to wait a little longer to see her.
Kim recently stated that she has moved on from Samantha and believes that viewers now link her with ventures other than Sex and The City.
She said that at a recent party, a fan approached her and said, ‘I’m simply crazy with it.’
And, of course, she meant Sex And The City,’ I reasoned. Kim told The New York Times. ‘But she was discussing How I Met Your Father.’
