Selling Sunset’s Chrishell Stause has responded to Maya Vander’s confused reaction in the Netflix reunion as she doubled down on her adoption plans.
Maya looked totally baffled after her co-star revealed that she was in a new relationship with non-binary Australian rapper G Flip and weighing up her options for starting a family following her split from Jason Oppenheim.
The camera zoomed in on her dumbfounded reaction multiple times before host Tan France prompted to ask her what was up.
‘I’m still processing everything,’ Maya admitted. ‘I didn’t know. I don’t even know. I wasn’t sure when she had her date, so I was like, wait! I’m happy for you.
‘Whatever makes people happy, it doesn’t matter. I know how she wants to be a mum, and hopefully G Flip is in the same boat, or whatever.’
Chrishell has since said there was no bad blood between herself and Maya following the glance.
The luxury real-estate agent shared a screenshot of her colleague’s confused face along with some text that read: ‘Me realising how many people didn’t know you can adopt on your own.’
Captioning the photo, she wrote: ‘Happy Mother’s Day to ALL of the mothers that are with us and to those that no longer areAbsolutely no matter how you got there.
‘*@themayavander is a supportive beautiful mom and we laughed about this before posting. I know a lot of you are confused. But what is important is that I am not.
‘Thank you to the beautiful open minds that have shown support. I want to hug you’
Chrishell confirmed her new relationship with G Flip in the reunion and the revelation came as a surprise to several of her castmates.
‘Recently I met someone who is in a different place in their life as well,’ she said. ‘You don’t get to choose when you meet someone in their life.’
She continued: ‘I’ve been spending a lot of time with someone who is very important to me, they’re called G Flip, they’re non-binary so they go by they/them.’
Chrishell’s new relationship comes after her whirlwind romance with Oppenheim Group boss Jason, which dominated season five of the Netflix reality show.
The former couple had confirmed they were an item in July last year, and they seemed to be totally smitten.
However, after months of dating the couple decided to go their separate ways in December 2021 as they were ultimately on different pages about having children.
Selling Sunset is available to stream on Netflix.
