After adopting her furry And Just Like That co-star, Sarah Jessica Parker has introduced the new member of her family.
After Carrie Bradshaw rescued the cat Shoe in the second season of the Sex and the City spin-off, fans were introduced to the cute kitten Shoe.
Taking to Instagram, the actress stated that once the cameras stopped shooting, she opened her doors to the newcomer and gave him a new name.
‘His off-camera name is Lotus,’ she said with a series of absolutely lovely images of the cat. When he and his siblings were rescued as infants by the @cthumanesociety, they were all given botanical names.
‘Adopted officially by the Parker/Broderick family in April 2023. He joins Remy and Smila who we adopted in May 2022.
‘If he looks familiar, that’s because he is. X, SJ.’

Sex and the City co-star Kristin Davis penned: ‘Love home so much [sic].’
Katie Couric agreed: ‘He’s SO cute.’

Thankfully, Lotus / Shoe will be seen a lot more in the future, since And Just Like That has been renewed for a third season.

The news was confirmed on Instagram just before the season two finale, with a joint post from the official pages of HBO Max and the spin-off, which read: ‘We’re coming back for season 3!’
In a statement, Max’s head of original content Sarah Aubrey added: ‘As we approach the highly anticipated season finale on Thursday, we raise our cosmos to [showrunner] Michael Patrick King and his magnificent team of writers, producers, cast and crew who continue to charm us, 25 years later, with dynamic friendships and engaging stories.
