Sarah Beeny is overjoyed to have received the all-clear after completing breast cancer therapy.
The 51-year-old actress disclosed in August 2022 that she had been diagnosed with the cancer, and she was given the all clear only a few days ago after completing her final round of chemotherapy earlier this year.
Reflecting on the news on Friday’s episode of Lorraine, she admitted: ‘It’s good, but it’s weird. They kind of go, “Right that’s it then, that’s the end of that”. And you kind of go, “How do you know?”
‘And they go, “Well we don’t, we just sort of think so”. It’s a weird end because you feel like there should be a moment – but it’s ongoing. I have to take drugs for the next 10 years.
‘But yeah, it’s been a weird ride that I wouldn’t wish on anyone else, but I’m glad I did it rather than somebody else.’
The property expert, who has announced the comeback of her show Sarah Beeny’s New Life in the Country, admits that the last year has been a “rollercoaster.”
She said: ‘It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride, but I feel very fortunate I had the diagnosis that I did, and that I live in 2022, ’23, and that I’m the age I am. So many things I’m fortunate for, I feel very blessed.’
Sarah, who has kids Rafferty, Laurie, Billy, and Charlie with husband Graham Swift, explained how much her family has helped her during her health fight.
‘It’s been overwhelming how lovely everyone’s been – even you,’ she joked as boys Billy and Rafferty joined her on the show, while Laurie had helped with her new platinum hairstyle.

‘It was their younger brother who did it. It was my blusher brush,’ she laughed.
When it comes to keeping their mum occupied during her treatment, Billy explained: ‘That’s all you really can do, in that situation. That was basically our job, to distract mum.’
‘It’s a busy house. I’ve been working all the way through, they’ve got a band and they’ve got school, and we’ve got the show,’ she added. ‘There’s so much going on, it’s good to keep busy.’
Sarah previously stated that she had a premonition that she would develop cancer when her mother died of breast cancer at the age of 39.
‘I’m 50 now, my mum died when I was 10. I just kind of always assumed I would get breast cancer,’ she explained on Loose Women.
She added: ’40 was a bit of a bumpy moment because I wasn’t sure what you do when you’re 40 if you’re not dead. It’s kind of weird.
‘And then life went on and I hit 50 and then I was diagnosed, and I thought, “There it is, it was just waiting.”‘
