In the most recent episode of And Just Like That, a recognisable face appeared, but fans were less familiar with their size.
Sam, 31, appeared in the HBO series as a fictionalised version of themselves and was shown searching for artwork with the assistance of Charlotte York Goldenblatt [Kristin Davis] and pal Jeffrey C Williams.
People were drawn to them because of their height rather than their taste for pricey art.
As they walked around the exhibition, the singer towered over Charlotte, who was 5’6. Sam is 6’2 and she was wearing stiletto shoes.
Some viewers of the series at home were taken aback by the announcement of their astounding height.
‘I was today years old finding out Sam Smith was 6’2 idk why I thought [they] was way shorter lol #AndJustLikeThat,’ remarked one person.
Another correctly pointed out that they had some help: ‘Plus the 3 inch platforms’.
Others were simply taken aback to see Sam on the show.
‘The new episode of and just like that and sam smith pops up on my screen I was not expecting that,’ typed a shocked viewer.

They also got praise for their appearance: ‘@samsmith loves Sex and the city, omg this is iconic!’
Michael Patrick King, the showrunner of Just Like That, previously expressed his delight in having Sam on board.
‘Two days after they won the Grammy, they’re on our show with a Carrie necklace that says Sam,’ he recalled to Entertainment Weekly.
‘They said they and their sisters all have them. That is the gold of having done a show that people liked: you call Sam Smith to play this nice part that we needed, and they’re like, “Yes, cause I love the show.” That’s really thrilling.’
Fans of And Just Like That will be treated to another appearance on next week’s show, this time from original character Samantha Jones.
Kim Cattrall, 66, first declined to return for the Sex and the City sequel, but a phone call from a very important person changed her mind.
And Just Like That’s streamer HBO called her to see if there was anything they could do to get her to return to the programme as the public relations guru.
The actress recalled the phone call during an interview on American talk show The View: ‘It’s very interesting to get a call from the head of HBO saying, “What can we do?”‘
Kim decided that she wanted her part to be styled by original costume designer Patricia Field.
‘I thought if I’m gonna come back, I gotta come back with that kind of Samantha style, I gotta push it, and we did!’
Between 1999 and 2004, Kim portrayed the sex-positive character in the groundbreaking series. She then starred in both sequel films, first in 2008 and then in 2010, but was absent from the 2021 sequel series.
And Just Like That is available to stream on NOW.
