Things are heating up on Rise and Fall, as one participant in particular has discovered a new motivation to strive to escape the basement: no Snoop Dogg.
The exciting new gameshow has 16 competitors divided into two teams: the strong Rulers and the helpless Grafters, who are forced to labour to raise the prize cash by doing chores such as eating pet food and receiving electric shocks.
Meanwhile, the Rulers live in opulence, are fed sumptuous food and drink, and even have a hot tub.
It’s no surprise that Jeff, 69, has been attempting to work his way up, but the other contenders aren’t persuaded.
While they choose Grafter Marina to rise and join the Rulers, Jeff remains in the basement and appears to be fed up.
‘So whatever I’ve done, I’ve done with a good heart, I’ve worked, and what’s killing me down here: the absence of music,’ he says in a trailer for tonight’s show.
‘For god’s sake, stick on some Snoop Dogg or Warren G, I won’t listen to Kanye anymore.’
He added to the camera: ‘I badly want to get to the penthouse, I don’t think there is anyone up there that is capable of true leadership.
‘I personally think I should wait another two or three days before I go up, but a day is a long time in politics, so I’m going to put my name forward.’
But Jeff isn’t the only one, and he’s up against some stiff competition, which leads to chaos in the basement.
James, the employment coach, is also intending to put his name up, and the two begin to disagree as they discuss who should be rising to meet the Rulers.
‘You and I are being asked questions, we are not questioning each other,’ Jeff bluntly tells James, to which the 26-year-old replies: ‘Technically I can question you, because technically you are my only hope.’
‘We are working together, and if you aren’t working with us now, are you going to work for us there?’ James continues.
As he stops Jeff as he attempts to respond, the entrepreneur fumes: ‘Can you let people finish? Kindly let folks finish. Oh, no, don’t tell them to stop.
‘Please respect yourself and respect age.’
