Roman Kemp is preparing to participate on Celebrity Big Brother after leaving his radio job.

After a decade at Capital FM, he most recently co-hosted the Breakfast programme with Sian Welby and Chris Stark, and announced his departure this week.

Roman, 31, revealed the news live on television, admitting he was’really uncomfortable to speak out loud’ and that he had six weeks remaining on the show.

He went on to say that he had been thinking about the choice for a long time and that it had not been ‘easy at all’.

Although his next major endeavour is presenting the Brit Awards alongside Maya Jama and Clara Amfo, bookmakers are betting he’ll also go on reality television.

Coral has reduced the chances on Roman appearing on the forthcoming series of Celebrity Big Brother from 4-1 to 2-1.

Coral’s John Hill told The Sun that once Roman announced his departure from Capital, many bettors assumed he would ‘go straight into the Celebrity Big Brother house’.

‘We make the presenter odds-on to be one of the candidates on the resumption of the celebrity programme,’ he explained.

Although he has not yet responded to the Big Brother conjecture, Roman did speculate last year that he would be joining Strictly Come Dancing.

When questioned about the possibility of seeing him on the dancing, the broadcaster replied it was a long shot since he was concerned he might wind up wounded.

‘I’ve had two knee operations, and a slipped disc. And I don’t think it’s really built for me,’ he said.

However, he did also say he’d love to perform with professional dancer Johannes Radebe, 36, who then put the call out, stating: ‘Strictly, do something about this.’

He added to OK!: ‘I think he’s a lovely guy. I’ve never seen him dance but I know I would laugh and that’s one of the most important things. [I’d want to dance with either] him or Andrew Garfield.’

The renowned faces taking part in Celebrity Big Brother will be announced live on air on the first episode on March 4, but other celebrities reported to be participating include former X Factor judge Louis Walsh and Love Island winner Ekin-Su Culculoglu.

Celebrity Big Brother starts on Monday, March 4 at 9pm on ITV1.
