Eddie Kadi, a DJ, comedian, and actor, has been revealed as the fifth Strictly Come Dancing candidate for 2023!
Later this year, he will join Amanda Abbington, Layton Williams, Angela Rippon, and Krishnan Guru-Murthy in leaving their day jobs for the ballroom.
The 40-year-old comedian is regarded as one of the world’s most famous stand-up comedians.
He continues to rule the world of comedy, crossing cultures and countries and performing in front of large crowds all over the world.
His trademark brand of dazzling, daring, high-energy comedy has earned him a devoted international following, and he was the first British Black comedian to headline London’s O2 Arena.
Eddie’s international fame has led to his hosting both the official red carpet event for BET International and BET Africa in Los Angeles, as well as the main stage presenter for Afro Nation Festivals throughout the world.
He has presented the renowned MOBO Awards and has been on a variety of TV shows such as Blankety Blank, The National Comedy Awards, Tonight with Target, +44 Presents: The Noughties Podcast, Don’t Hate the Playaz, and Road to Afro Nation: Davido Live.
Eddie also hosts BBC Radio 1Xtra’s The Official Afrobeats Chart Show and is a Team Captain on ITV’s entertainment show Sorry I Didn’t Know.
Eddie has been nominated for the coveted Royal Television Society Best Breakthrough Award as well as Best Breakthrough Presenter at the Edinburgh TV Awards this year. He is also working with Channel 4 on his own documentary.
Eddie couldn’t have sounded more ecstatic about joining the Strictly family.
