Prue Leith, a Great British Bake Off judge, had great hopes for celebrity guest star David Schwimmer, but was surprised to learn that making conversation wasn’t at the top of his priority list.

The Friends actor, 56, will be accompanied by an all-star cast that includes Jay Blades from The Repair Shop, Gemma Collins from Dragons’ Den, and even AJ Odudu.

Loose Women’s Judi Love and Coleen Nolan, Olympic gold medalist Tom Daley, and Top Gear’s Paddy McGuinness will all put their baking abilities to the test.

After labelling David ‘the most renowned in the tent’ Prue imagined that his demeanour would be akin to the funny palaeontologist he formerly played.

‘What I was surprised about, though, was I thought he’d behave like he behaved as Ross [Geller],’ she told The Mirror.

‘He’d be like he was in Friends, but he was actually very concentrated and didn’t want to talk to anybody.

‘He just wanted to get on baking and he badly wanted to win. He loosened up after a while.’

I’m glad to hear he’s okay now. Everything is fine!

The Madagascar star discusses why he joined up for this year’s Celeb Bake Off in the forthcoming episode.

He said: ‘I lost my grandmother to cancer, my daughter lost a grandmother to cancer and my sister is a cancer survivor, so it’s important to me.

‘I am just grateful I can help in any small way raise more awareness.’

Strictly Come Dancing‘s Ellie Taylor, Bafta-nominated comedian Rose Matafeo, Little Mix’s Jesy Nelson, Shaun of the Dead actress Jessica Hynes, and I’m A Celebrity… Adele Roberts, from the show Get Me Out of Here!, will also appear.

The epic lineup is completed by comic Tom Davis, writer Mike Wozniak, radio icon Tim Key, director David Morrissey, comedian Joe Thomas, and writer Lucy Beaumont.

They’ll all be fighting for Star Baker and avoiding wet bottoms in front of judges Paul Hollywod and Prue, as well as hosts Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas.

The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer airs on Sunday March 19 at 7:45pm on Channel 4.
