Only two weeks after bragging that his show had ‘five times’ the ratings of Nigel Farage’s, Piers Morgan’s Uncensored is now drawing in fewer viewers, according to the latest figures.
Morgan had a fairly strong start with a peak of nearly 400,000 viewers on his first show, where he interviewed former US President Donald Trump, however, his viewing numbers have now plummeted to just short of 59,000.
Farage, meanwhile, has 74,000 viewers on his GB News programme, according to official BARB figures.
Farage’s 7pm show peaked at 73,600 viewers, whereas Morgan’s 8pm slot only managed 58,800 viewers.
Beating them both, GB News’ Dan Wootton reached 75,100 viewers.
Despite the fall, Morgan has been reminding followers on social media that he’s been beating Sky News and GB News at the same time slots.
The plummet in ratings follows Steve Coogan’s savage swipe at Morgan’s programme at the Baftas.
In his Alan Partridge character, Steve provided a hilarious monologue in a video for the ceremony, beginning by apologising for not being there before saying he’s currently on tour, where each night he performs ‘to an audience bigger than Piers Morgan gets on the actual telly.’
‘But the good thing about Piers is it doesn’t bother him,’ he added.
Farage’s programme beating Morgan’s in viewer ratings comes amidst their ongoing feud, after the TalkTV host accused the former UKIP leader of trying to ‘ruin’ his explosive interview with Trump.
Morgan then sensationally leaked a video where Farage calls his so-called friend Trump ‘angry’ and ‘one-geared’, saying he ‘always likes to return a favour’.
Posting the video on Twitter, Morgan wrote: ‘Can you make sure your Dad sees it, @DonaldJTrumpJr – just thought you should both know what a treacherous disingenuous little snake you’re dealing with.’
Last week, Morgan faced a dip as Uncensored drew in fewer viewers than both Sky News and BBC News on Wednesday night.
BBC News drew in a crowd of 127,000, while Sky attracted 84,000 for the 8-9pm time slot.
However, the former Good Morning Britain presenter took to Twitter to insist that he didn’t care, hitting back at his critics.
On Thursday morning, he penned on Twitter: ‘Loving how much my new show @PiersUncensored is annoying all the right people, exactly as I’d hoped.
‘And surprise, surprise, they’re already trying to cancel me! Keep wailing, you whiny woke Guardian-reading wastrels… I’m your worst nightmare and only just getting started.’
