Piers Morgan might have been gloating about his viewership on his debut show, but he’s already lost a huge number of viewers overnight on TalKTV.
Piers made sure to make an impact with his first show, which featured an explosive interview with former US President Donald Trump.
However, despite managing to gain some decent momentum for his debut, he shed nearly 200,000 viewers on Tuesday night.
His friend and colleague Sharon Osbourne was met with just 20,000 for her programme which followed immediately after – comfortably beaten by GB News.
‘Tuesday night TV ratings for the new news channels. GB News 7pm-8pm: 73,000 8pm-9pm: 41,000 9pm-10pm: 59,000
‘TalkTV: 7pm-8pm: 44,000 8pm-9pm (Piers Morgan): 216,000 9pm-10pm: 20,000,’ tweeted journalist Jim Waterson.
Of course, Piers has already hit back after his latest viewing figures were made public.
He wrote: ‘For proper context, you should also show the ratings for long-established BBC News & Sky News.
‘Spoiler alert, I hammered all of them.’
It’s a stark contrast to night one, where Piers drew nearly double the crowd.
Piers quickly reacted drawing in 400,000 followers on his first show, sharing: ‘BREAKING NEWS: @PiersUncensored got bigger ratings at 8-9pm last night than BBC News, Sky News and GB News…. COMBINED!!!
‘What a start – thanks for watching!’
His programme reached an average of 317,000 viewers between 8pm and 9pm – which translated as two percent of the audience share.
Piers is going strong in his methods to try and pull in the crowds, announcing boxing champion Tyson Fury would be joining him on Wednesday night’s programme.
In a post on his Twitter account, the broadcaster wrote: ‘BREAKING: World Heavyweight Champion @Tyson_Fury will give me his first TV interview since retaining his title on Saturday to @PiersUncensored tomorrow night – LIVE! You won’t want to miss this.’
