During Jordan Peterson’s appearance on Talk TV’s Uncensored, Piers Morgan gave him a shoulder to weep on.
The professional psychologist expressed his thoughts to the British broadcaster on Tuesday night’s show, and Jordan fell into tears at the end of his portion.
The 58-year-old host peppered his guest with quick-fire questions and appeared surprised when the celebrity grew teary-eyed.
Jordan, 61, battled to maintain his cool while describing the benefits and drawbacks of being in the spotlight.
He became overwhelmed while recounting how he found his fame later on in life and wiped his eyes when he said: ‘I think that’s part of what made me ill’.
The star told Piers: ‘Imagine someone gave you everything you could possibly imagine and more’, to which the host responded, ‘It’s an amazing thing, Jordan’.
The speaker went on to say that he finds it ‘overwhelming’ all the time and thanked his admirers for their unending support of his teachings.
Throughout the show, Jordan expressed his thoughts on Russell Brand and the current sexual assault claims levelled against the comic.
He said: ‘Russell’s sexual behaviour was exactly the kind of hedonistic nightmare that all the kind of radicals and progressives are rah, rah, rah-ing about non-stop except when it comes to visit them at home.
‘He was celebrated for his womanising and he’s apologised for that and he stopped drinking and he stopped taking cocaine and usually people who engage in licentious and impulsive behaviour of the sort that’s liable to get you in trouble are extraordinary intoxicated by alcohol at the time of doing it.
‘So the mere fact that he’s become sober in recent years and also attempted to atone for his sins is a real plus.’
Piers pressed his guest on his views, asking how he would feel if Brand’s charges were proven to be genuine.
Jordan replied: ‘As you said earlier, we have courts for determining that and what constitutes the truth especially in retrospect – particularly in the fog of an alcoholic encounter let’s say – is not an easy thing to determine.’
He added: ‘You certainly don’t presume that just because someone is accused it’s time to strip them and throw them out into the street.’
