Phillip Schofield sipped whisky with the young girlfriend with whom he admits to having an affair in a resurfaced This Morning piece.
The former Dancing On Ice host, 61, resigned from ITV with ‘immediate effect’ after admitting to a ‘unwise’ but ‘not illegal’ connection with the guy, who worked as a runner on the daytime programme.
Schofield dressed up as an elf for a Christmas segment and appeared in the background in a 2016 footage from the show, which she formerly co-hosted with Holly Willoughby, 42.
Meanwhile, Schofield and Willoughby were trying a variety of whiskies from an advent calendar, including a bottle that cost £1,000.
Taking a drink of the liquor, the former The Cube host said that it was’smooth’ before handing it to the runner.
‘Let’s get the elf trashed,’ Schofield said as he handed the whisky to the guy.
Schofield broke out laughing as the runner took a mouthful, nodded his head, and stuck his thumbs up in satisfaction.
It follows reports in the Daily Mail that the guy was ‘paid off’ by ITV at the conclusion of his relationship with the former presenter.
After his friendship with Schofield allegedly worsened, the man was relocated from This Morning to Loose Women.
According to the site, sources believe the runner received a cash settlement from the broadcaster, which ITV has apparently declined to comment on or deny on many occasions.
In a shocking interview with GB News, Eamonn Holmes stated that the runner did not request the ‘promoted’ to Loose Women and demanded that the ‘unique’ new job be probed, specifically ‘who permitted it.’
He also claimed to have heard from a credible source that the runner would arrive by taxi from Schofield’s house on Friday mornings after they had gone out on Thursday evenings.
Holmes went on to allege the young guy was ‘in a horrible place’ and he and Holmes’ wife Ruth Langsford kept a watch on him, but he ‘never confessed’ any form of contact with Schofield but he would ‘phone regularly’ for ‘comfort’.
Schofield’s 35-year agency, as well as The Prince’s Trust, have ditched him after the news broke.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
