Phillip Schofield’s career appears to have taken another hit as a result of the repercussions from his ITV leave.

The This Morning host, 61, famously departed the programme and walked away from the spotlight earlier this year after revealing to colleagues and loved ones that she had lied about an affair with a much younger male colleague.

He described his contact with the runner, who has not been publicly identified, as ‘unwise but not unlawful,’ and subsequently vehemently refuted allegations that he ‘groomed’ the runner.

Phillip has barely been seen in public a few times since his shocking confession, saying before that he does not see a future in television.

The former announcer has now been fired from Manchester’s The Cube fan attraction.

Phillip, who has hosted the game show since its inception in 2009, previously featured in a welcome video describing how the attraction operated.

Given that he was the face of the ITV show, he was essential in the fan experience, which debuted in February of last year.

However, according to the Daily Star, The Cube Live executives opted to fire him in the aftermath of his controversy.

Colin McFarlane, who provided voiceovers on the show, has now taken his position.

An insider at the attraction said: ‘Phillip has been completely erased.

‘Bosses at The Cube Live don’t want to be associated with him in the light of recent events.’

This is not the first project Phillip has been cut from as a result of the aftermath from his affair, with him being completely removed from the This Morning scene.

Phillip will not return to Dancing On Ice next year after resigning from his talent agency, and an announcement on who would replace him is expected soon.

Meanwhile, an inquiry into the circumstances behind Phillip’s departure from ITV is ongoing.

The probe was also prompted by charges of toxicity and bullying made by former ITV presenters and behind-the-scenes personnel.

MPs urged ITV executives to address the serious allegations, and the conclusions are anticipated to be disclosed soon.

Holly, 42, who co-hosted This Morning with Phillip for almost a decade, is believed to be cooperating with the whole affair.

Holly is stated to have no secrets, despite workers being questioned about what they knew by Jane Mulcahy KC.

‘She has nothing to hide,’ one of her friends has said.

The broadcaster has also ‘completely participated and cooperated with all that has been required of her by the KC’.

The insider added to The Mirror: ‘Holly was more than happy to do what was asked of her, and explain her position, and what she knew, and what she didn’t.’
