Pete Davidson has been having a laugh at his own expense on Saturday Night Live, after appearing to joke about his love life this weekend.
The 28-year-old opened the show with a self-referential appearance in the Cold Open, which also starred James Austin Johnson in character as President Joe Biden – joking that everyone else is better off in an alternate reality, apart from Pete.
It looked like a cheeky gag about his love life, which has seen him linked with Kim Kardashian over recent times. The loved-up couple have been enjoying various date nights in New York City and LA, and even recently jetting off to the Bahamas together.
The moment came during the long opening sketch, which saw Biden blame a spike in Covid cases on people going to see the new Spider-Man: No Way Home in cinemas.
‘I’m here to tell you there is one simple thing you can do to make this whole virus go away. Stop seeing Spider-Man. Just stop seeing Spider-Man,’ he said.
Biden is later asked: ‘Do you think that elsewhere in the multiverse, there’s a version of you that wants people to see Spider-Man?’
The comedian in character as the President responded: ‘I’ve actually thought about this a lot. I’ve consulted with Dr. Fauci and Dr. Strange. As far as I can tell there are at least three Joe Bidens. One of them is me, one of them is a Joe Biden that lost to Trump… And then there’s a third Joe Biden that was the greatest President in history.’
The stage was then covered in dry ice, with comedian Pete appearing wearing a grey wig and sunglasses.
He announced: ‘I am Joe Biden from the real universe. The timeline you are all living in is about to collapse. You see, it was created as a joke starting in 2016 when the Chicago cubs won the world series, and now it spiralled out of control and could explode at any minute.
Pete‘s Biden is then asked how people are doing in this other universe.
‘Everyone on Earth is better off in the real world except one man named Pete Davidson,’ Pete as Biden responded. ‘This world is maybe more fun for him.’
Fair play, it looks like Pete knows how lucky he is.
Meanwhile, Pete has reportedly never been to Kim Kardashian’s house – despite Kanye West claiming he believed the comedian was there.
The rapper, 44, recently stated that he believed the Saturday Night Live star was at Kim’s house when he was dropping off their children.
However, a source told TMZ that the rapper’s recent statement was completely ‘false’, and apparently Kim also wasn’t even there at the time.
The Skims creator filed for divorce from the musician after six years of marriage, and despite the rapper currently enjoying a budding romance with Julia Fox, it seems as though he’s not too happy about Pete and Kim.
