Paul Sinha’s TV Showdown returns tonight to ITV for a second series with captains Rob Beckett and Fay Ripley as they’re joined by new celebrity guests.
Paul has been on The Chase since 2011 but was given his own slot on TV Showdown early last year, which soon went down a treat with fans.
The Chaser’s own quiz show sees stars from the world of TV test their knowledge of what’s on the box.
The contestants have to battle their way through questions on clips of the most talked-about TV moments from recent years, identifying a TV character from a set of clues given by celebrity guests, and the dramatic final spotlight round.
Episode one will see the pair joined by comedian Katherine Ryan, athlete Denise Lewis, MasterChef presenter Gregg Wallace and rapper Big Zuu.
But here’s everything you need to know about the much-loved quizzer himself.
How old is Paul Sinha?
Paul was born in Luton, Bedfordshire on May 28, 1970, making him 51-years-old.
He was educated at Dulwich College and St George’s Hospital Medical School, before qualifying as a doctor in the 1990s.
The Chase star began performing stand-up while working as a junior doctor in hospitals in London and King’s Lyn and has performed countless shows at Edinburgh Fringe Festival over the years.
But his breakthrough came with his second solo Edinburgh show, Saint or Sinha?, which earned him an if.comeddie nomination in 2006.
Who is Paul Sinha married to?
Paul is married to Oliver Levy, with the pair having tied the knot at Mayfair Library in late 2019.
The quizzer proposed to Olly in January 2019, telling fans on social media at the time: ‘I proposed today. He said yes. Thus starts yet another diet.’
He first revealed to fans he was with Olly back in 2017, via the site GuysLikeU.
It’s not known how the pair met, but they are both forces of nature when it comes to the world of quizzing.
What illness does Paul Sinha have?
Paul was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in May 2019, and has spoken publicly about his illness to fans on multiple occasions via his social media accounts.
He recently told 5 News: ‘I see life very differently from before the diagnosis. Before the diagnosis, I was trundling along.
‘Now there’s a sense of urgency to just get things done, although I consider myself quite fortunate to not really have a bucket list as such.
‘I mean, I’ve been to all the places that I really really really want to go, I’ve done the things I really really really want to do. For me now, it’s more in a broader sense enjoying life, embracing life and enjoying the company of great people.’
What is The Chaser’s IQ?
Paul hasn’t actually revealed his IQ score publicly.
But we do have an idea of how well Paul has performed overall on The Chase.
Fansite One Question Shootout crunched the numbers to find that for series 12, Anne Hegerty was the top chaser – winning 82.9% of the time.
Just behind her is Paul, aka The Sinnerman, with a series score of 79.4%.
