After being named the winner of Scared of the Dark, Paul Gascoigne felt overjoyed.
Eight celebrities spend eight days living in complete darkness while being continuously recorded for the action-packed show presented by actor Danny Dyer. In order to keep their spot on the show and receive food or treats, the gang must take part in tasks.
The celebs must yell “I’m Scared of The Dark” in order to exit “The Bunker” in true I’m A Celebrity style. They are now led into the light at this point.
Celebrities Chris Eubank and Max George quit the experiment early throughout the course of the four episodes, along with the former football player, Chloe Burrows, Nicola Adams, Donna Preston, Scarlett Moffatt, and Chris McCausland.
After a challenging voyage in the darkness, Danny declared that Paul, alias Gazza, had won the competition thanks to the support of his fellow actors.
Later, the action switched to other celebrities praising the football star.
He’s always been upfront about his feelings and his mental health, according to Love Island‘s Chloe. I believe that is the most amazing thing to have happened.
Paul struggled to express his happiness, saying, “I’m so happy.”
In classic Gazza manner, he equated his victory to taking a “cannonball to the b****ks.”
He continued: ‘To come out of the other side and to be smiling is just amazing and a massive achievement, and to win it… it’s such an unbelievable feeling, it’s just fantastic.’
Paul experienced an emotional moment after reflecting on his travels, and presenter Danny consoled him by giving him a “little cuddle.”
Viewers were overjoyed by the result, with one person penning: ‘Awww go on Gazza Well deserved.’
‘I just cheered – well done Gazza,’ another added.
Two days before the experiment came to an end, Max George said his goodbyes in tonight’s conclusion.
‘There are things I need to sort out in my own life,’ he said.‘Being in the dark isn’t nice. I’m going to go home today and start fixing a few things.’
Scared of the Dark is available to stream on All4.
