Paris Fury is allegedly saddened by the criticism directed by her husband Tyson over their new Netflix series.
At Home With The Furys provides an insight inside the family’s home life, including the boxer’s mental health difficulties, and some viewers were offended by the way he treated her in video featured on the show.
One observer called his attitude “dreadful,” while another said Tyson’s difficulties are “no excuse.”
Speaking to OK!, a source said: ‘Paris is heartbroken by the comments she’s seeing about Tyson.
‘She has always known he’s someone difficult to get your head around and that he can be hard work, but she didn’t expect him to receive such a bad reception from the public.
‘She’s so headstrong, so she’s finding it really hard to see so many comments taking pity on her for the way Tyson’s mental health sometimes causes him to behave.’
Paris – who is pregnant with the couple’s seventh child – has children Venezuela, 13, Prince John James, 11, Prince Tyson II, seven, Valencia, five, Prince Adonis Amaziah, four, and two-year-old Athena with the 35-year-old star.
The docuseries focuses on his fight with bipolar disorder and how his mood fluctuations affect his family.
In one episode, Paris, 33, spent the day planning a welcome home party for her husband, but when he arrived at their mansion, he threw a blanket at his wife and attacked the family dog.
Tyson ended up abandoning the event to ‘walk the dog’ in another episode depicting daughter Athena’s baptism.
Despite the backlash, the insider added to OK!: ‘She’s always been aware of his mental health battles. So, she didn’t expect viewers to take such a critical view of their marriage because she’s just so used to how things roll with Tyson.’
Reaction to the show has been split, with many people hailing programme as a ‘good advertisement for mental health’, with one viewer pointing out: ‘It’s not weak to suffer. Well done, Tyson.’
Others criticised him, and someone else argued: ‘Watched two episodes of this – Paris Fury is amazing, but Tyson is an absolute horror. I get he has mental health issues but it’s no excuse for the way he treats her.’
In an Instagram post following the show, Paris wrote: ‘In my eyes there’s nothing more important than being a loyal wife and a good mother, and I work really hard to ensure that Tyson and the kids are properly looked after.’
She continued: ‘Their welfare and well-being matters more to me than anything else on earth – if they’re happy, I’m happy – so I gladly devote the lion’s share of my time to those priorities.’
At Home With The Furys is available to stream on Netflix.
