Nigel Harman has been named as the newest celebrity to go on Strictly Come Dancing in the 2023 season.
On Thursday morning, the celebrity was announced in a statement on ITV talk programme Lorraine.
Nigel is well-known for his work in EastEnders, Downton Abbey, and the hospital drama Casualty.
As well as being revealed on Lorraine, Nigel’s name was announced by the official Strictly Twitter account, who asked: ‘Is there a doctor in the house? There is now.’
And in a statement following his reveal, he said: ‘I’m amazed, excited, and terrified to be doing Strictly.
‘As an armchair fan of the show I have watched in awe as people have twirled and gyrated across the screen. And now it’s my turn… gulp!’
He is the 13th celebrity to join this year’s lineup, after the announcements of EastEnders’ Bobby Brazier, Coronation Street’s Ellie Leach, and Paralympic champion Jody Cundy yesterday.
Amanda Abbington, Angela Rippon, Layton Williams, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Eddie Kadi, Angela Scanlon, Zara McDermott, Adam Thomas, and Nikita Kanda have all already been revealed.
Strictly Come Dancing returns later this year on BBC One and BBC iPlayer; Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV
