Nick Hewer has bought himself the cutest puppy as a retirement gift after he revealed he was quitting Countdown.
In December, the TV presenter announced plans to quit the Channel 4 show after 10 years.
Taking to Twitter, Nick shared the most adorable snap of his new puppy, Molly.
‘Meet Molly, my Countdown retirement present to myself. Can she chew,’ he penned alongside the photo.
The host’s followers were quick to comment on how ‘adorable’ Molly is and many even shared snaps of their own dogs.
One tweeted: ‘Your retirement present is wonderful.’
Another said: ‘I have a Molly . Mollys are beautiful Xxx’
While one added: ‘She is just adorable!’
‘She’s absolutely gorgeous Nick,’ another tweeted.
Fans have been speculating on who could join Rachel and Susie Dent on the daytime programme as the new host, and a few names have emerged as early favourites.
The bookies favourite to take over from Nick on Countdown is currently Paul O’Grady.
This Morning presenter Eamonn Holmes is also in contention, just days after it was confirmed that he and his wife Ruth Langsford have been replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary on the ITV show.
Most recently, Colin Murray’s name has been thrown into the mix after he made his debut on the programme.
Last month, the Radio Five Live DJ stepped in for Nick after he was forced to remain in quarantine due to being considered ‘vulnerable’.
He was such a hit with viewers, that fans were calling for Colin to be Nick’s replacement when he does eventually retire.
Countdown airs weekdays at 2.10pm on Channel 4.
