Munya Chawawa celebrates ‘first writing job’ on Charlie Brooker’s Death to 2020

Munya Chawawa has become the voice of a generation in 2020 thanks to his lightning speed video parodies and unique take on the news – and now he’s joining forces with Charlie Brooker for his new Netflix series.

The comedian announced that he helped write the upcoming mystery special Death To 2020 – believed to be somewhat connected to the Black Mirror world.

Alongside the trailer (which originally dropped without warning during an episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here two weeks ago), he simply wrote: ‘My first writing job.’

We can’t wait to see what Charlie, Munya and Annabel Jones have come up with – considering the absolutely staggering cast that’s already been announced attached to the project.

While the series has yet to be given a release date, it’s believed that the series, like the trailer, will drop with very little notice, to keep viewers on their toes.

The name of the series has a particular resonance to Black Mirror fans too – considering the ‘DeathTo’ hashtag became a major focus of episode Hated In The Nation, with everyone using it killing those they declare they wanted dead.

Information on the series is very, very scarce at the moment, with Netflix and the team keeping official information under wraps for now.

It’s been confirmed that Hugh Grant, Samuel L. Jackson, Lisa Kudrow, SNL’s Leslie Jones, Stranger Things’ Joe Keery and Silicon Valley’s Kumail Nanjiani will all be involved.

Golden Globe-winner Tracey Ullman, How I Met Your Mother actress Cristin Milioti, and Truth Seekers star Samson Kayo have also joined the cast.

We can’t wait to see what they come up with.
