After 30 years of working together, comedy double act Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins have revealed their biggest ever fallout.
The former Great British Bake Off hosts are notoriously one of the closest duos in showbusiness, and are about to star in Hitmen: Reloaded as two ‘bickering’ assassins.
Appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show, Sue insisted that in real-life, however, they’ve only ever had ‘mild skirmishes. Not rows. Maybe a dry eye-roll’.
Mel added: ‘We’ve had a couple of snips.’
‘There was more than that, mate,’ said Sue.
Mel recalled one particular incident when she was left ‘livid’ by Sue.
‘Actually (it was) in this very building – in reception,’ she told Jonathan.
‘We arranged to meet, let’s say it was 10am. I was there 20 minutes to – always early.
‘This was a tense morning, I think we were due to have a meeting with somebody about something.
‘(Sue) rolls in…18 minutes late. I am livid.
‘When I’m livid I just go very, very jolly and very, very passive aggressive.’
Mel and Sue’s upcoming series, the second chapter of Sky’s Hitmen, is an unexpected turn for pair, going from scoffing cakes in the Bake Off tent to becoming action stars, even performing their own stunts.
‘I had a fight in a loo and really put my hip out. In my head I’m Jean Claude Van Damme,’ teased Sue.
The Jonathan Ross show airs on Saturday nights at 9.30pm and on ITV and the ITV Hub.
