Following his contentious appearance on I’m A Celebrity, former Health Secretary Matt Hancock is continuing his reality TV campaign by appearing on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.
A first look teaser for the rigorous Channel 4 show has been published… and the Special Forces operators in charge don’t hold back when it comes to pushing the politician and other celebrities to the very extent of their physical and mental capacities.
Gareth Gates, Michelle Heaton, Siva Kaneswaran, Danielle Lloyd, Melinda Messenger, and Jermaine Pennant will appear on the show, as will Gareth Thomas, James Argnet, Montana Brown, Teddy Soares, Amber Turner, Zoe Lyons, Kirsty-Leigh Porter, Perri Shakes-Drayton, and Jon-Allan Butterworth.
We have no doubt that many people will tune in just to see Hancock grapple while coated in muck, scale dangerous heights, and endure the unyielding stare of seasoned interrogators.
The public figure gets a sack ripped off his head at the start of the caravan, as he stands in the pouring rain, confronting those in command of his horrible experience.
Later, he can be seen concentrating hard while attempting a height test, then screwing up his face while army crawling in muddy, marshy waters.
During a fight with another Celebrity SAS star, he is knocked off his feet in a hit that appears to knock the wind out of him.
Meanwhile, during a questioning, Hancock appears to be crying as he is advised to “relax. You look like you’re about to be executed.’
Despite receiving much criticism when he joined the cast of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, the former Secretary of State finished third, trailing winner Jill Scott and runner-up Owen Warner.
It was earlier said that Hancock would be ‘absolutely destroyed’ during the interrogations on Celebrity SAS.
‘We treat everybody the same and we really went at him,’ chief instructor Billy Billingham said earlier this year.
‘In the interrogation bit, he gets destroyed, absolutely destroyed.’
He continued to The Sun: ‘At the time I thought, “Oh, hang on, maybe this is a bit much?” But no, he deserved it.
‘The idea is every single contestant will either leave on day one or will leave as a better version of themselves and with Matt Hancock, he’s still got a long way to go.’
Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins returns to on Tuesday September 26 at 9.30pm on Channel 4.
