Married At First Sight viewers were stunned to discover that new contestant Matt, who met and married Gemma at the altar, has previously starred on another, raunchier E4 programme.

Matt and Gemma joined Sophie and Jonathan as late arrivals to the show, and after marrying on their first day of meeting, took off on honeymoon together, but things weren’t smooth-sailing when Matt made it clear he wasn’t comfortable with Sophie’s sexual jokes.

At a later commitment ceremony and storming off at a dinner party, Matt admitted it was better for the pair to have some space.

But viewers have been distracted by all the drama going on, as some spotted Matt has previously appeared on Naked Attraction, which sees a host of unlucky-in-love singletons raring to go on a date, but in order to be a whisked away on a romantic dinner or drinks they must strip off, winning over a potential partner based purely on their physical appearance.

‘Matt was on Naked Attraction,’ one viewer penned, while another wrote: ‘Gemma is going to internally combust when she realises Matt stripped off for #NakedAttraction.’

However, the 32-year-old cleared things up on Twitter, replying to one viewer with: ‘I was in a back story for Naked attraction. I never got naked.’

Another viewer noticed that Matt wasn’t actually a contestant on the steamy show, but appeared in a VT as a friend.

Someone else confirmed: ‘Haha sorry he wasn’t a contestant! Just a friend of the girl that applied!’

This comes after viewers spotted MAFS contestant April Banbury on previous dating shows.

The dress designer, who was named Ms Great Britain 2020, is something of a regular on the dating show circuit, having tried to find a match on previous programmes.

The 33-year-old is currently married to George Roberts on MAFS, and seems pretty smitten even after the 40-year-old dropped the bombshell that he has four kids.

But it’s not the first time April has tried to find ‘the one’ on TV, with the reality star making her debut appearance on our screens back in 2011.

More than a decade ago, April joined The Bachelor, which had rugby legend and Charlotte Church’s ex Gavin Henson’s heart up for grabs.

While April ultimately didn’t win over the 40-year-old, who paired off with Carianne Barrow, she finished in third place.

Clearly not burned by her experience on TV, April then tried her luck on The Cabins in 2021.

In the Love Island-style show, a cast of hopefuls check into rural cabins as they go off the grid and get to know each other the good ol’ fashioned way – face to face.

April hunkered down in a luxury log cabin, complete with hot tubs, near Carlisle, Cumbria, where she started crushing on model Ryan Darvill.

However, she later revealed lockdown made getting to know one another more difficult, nipping any romance in the bud.

Married At First Sight continues on E4 tonight at 9pm.
