Ella Morgan Clark, the first trans candidate on Married At First Sight UK, leaves her parents distraught after displaying her wedding gown on Tuesday’s show.
The iconic dating show returned to the small screen on Monday night, with this season promising to be the longest ever, so bring on the drama.
Ella, a clinic consultant, is shown in a video revealing her wedding gown to her parents.
Ella’s startled parents stared in wonder after she made the big surprise and hugged her tightly.
‘I feel like a princess I dreamed of being,’ she said.
Talking to the camera, Ella’s dad Chris says: ‘She looks absolutely stunning, she looks perfect. Extremely proud today. With everything we’ve been through in the past…. yeah, extremely proud.’

Awwww!
Ella addressed her fellow finalists about her difficult background at Monday’s premiere.
I deliberately didn’t want to answer [about family] and I know I’m sounding cryptic now but there was a time where my life wasn’t that easy and we weren’t the family that we are now,’ she said.
‘I think the word family to me is a big deal.’
‘I was born in the wrong body, my parents actually gave birth to a little boy called Evan but I’ve transitioned into Ella who I am now and who I have always been.’
The clinic consultant from Weston-Super-Mare received an outpouring of sympathy online, with viewers moved by her heartfelt presentation.
One viewer wrote: ‘Ella looks amazing what a brave woman.’
Another said: ‘Ella seems so sweet. Everybody in this world deserves love. Everybody. If you don’t have space in your heart for that, keep it to yourself maybe? This takes bravery.’
Despite her openness to viewers, Ella chose not to reveal her transformation with the other brides just yet.
She vowed to be’more honest’ later, but she wanted to inform her husband first since she felt she ‘owed it’ to him.
Ella had anticipated controversy when she joined up, telling Lorraine, “I knew I would get a lot of backlash and a lot of hate as the first transgender person.”
‘And I’ve always struggled labelling myself as a trans person because you feel a sense of shame sometimes, and I’m lucky to have my family but it has shown me the negative side.’
MAFS UK airs at 9pm on E4, Monday through Thursdays.
