After the show received criticism, a Naked Education candidate stated why he opted to strip naked in front of youngsters.

nude Education is a body-positive new programme hosted by Anna Richardson and Love Island star Dr Alex George that investigates various nude bodies and the fears that their owners have dealt with their whole lives.

One portion of the show has split fans, as youngsters aged 14 to 16 are confronted with nude strangers who narrate their path to body acceptance.

On Wednesday, it was revealed that Naked Education had received over 1,000 Ofcom complaints, but a guy who took part in the show and revealed his body to a class of teenagers justified his decision.

Liam Halewood appeared in a section about cosmetic surgery, disclosing that he spent £20,000 on operations ranging from Botox and lip fillers to hair transplants.

Halewood emphasised that anyone who has complained about the broadcast has misinterpreted its purpose.

‘There’s nothing perverse about the show, in my opinion, he told Lancashire Live.

‘Any child with a mobile phone can pick it up and search and nudity is accessible to them already.

‘It’s nothing worse than what they see online – and that stuff isn’t consensual by the parents, whereas this is.

On social media, everything is filtered and edited and on this show, there is a real body.’

Halewood expected Naked Education would get complaints and ‘spark controversy’.

‘But it was all above board,’ he stressed. ‘The children and their parents had consented and it is educational.’

Naked Education is available to stream on All 4.
