Despite doctor’s advice, a guy who has consumed over 4300 pounds of raw beef in four years would not quit.
Weston is addicted to the diet and has even seen a gastroenterologist, but he refuses to take his urgent advise.
He appears on My Strange Addiction: Still Addicted? on TLC. having already stated that he and his dogs had something in ‘common’ since they were ‘made’ that way.
‘I feed my dogs 100% raw meat and raw bones,’ Weston explains.
The clip goes on to see him munching slabs of raw steak, admitting that he is ‘addicted’.
‘It’s delicious,’ he says.
‘It’s very squishy in my mouth, and since it’s raw it slides down your mouth, you don’t have to chew it up that much,’ Weston adds.
‘It’s a very good feeling, borderline euphoric.
‘It can feel very primal.’
Weston even gets urges to ‘howl like a wolf’ after eating like his dogs.
However, his doctor is left with ‘serious concerns’, but Weston isn’t phased, having done his own ‘unconventional’ research.
‘I feel like I know a little bit more.’
But, his doctor has warned he has an ‘abnormal’ strain of E. coli! which can lead to kidney problems, and ‘even death’.
Weston says: ‘I’m not surprised at all that they found something. I eat the most bizarre diet of all time, of course, I’m probably going to have some unusual strains of bacteria that they don’t normally see in people’s stools.’
Despite his doctor telling him to avoid the raw meat putting him ‘at risk’, Weston brushes it off.
‘Thus, eating raw meat greatly increases your risk of developing foodborne illness, and you should proceed with caution.
‘Certain at-risk populations, such as children, pregnant or nursing women, and older adults, should avoid eating raw meat altogether.’
He says: ‘I appreciate that, I’m probably going to continue eating raw meat, and if I start feeling bad, I’ll come in for a visit.
‘But until then, I’ll probably keep on trucking.’
The doctor replies: ‘One thing I try to do with all my patients is be transparent. As long as I know where you stand and you know where I stand, I think we’re in a good position.’
Weston later adds in a confessional: ‘My goal moving forward is to keep eating my food and staying healthy.
‘I’m going to live a happy life. I’m going to continue to do this another four years, ten years, 20 years, the rest of my life, and that will be it.’
