Madonna has launched a scathing jab at Pepsi, and we couldn’t be happier.
The Queen of Pop, 65, lashed out at the company by appearing with its competitor, in a cruel gesture after Pepsi finally broadcast an advertisement that had been prohibited for more than three decades.
Madonna said on Wednesday that a commercial she shot in 1989 would finally be shown, thanks to a $5 million (£4 million) transaction.
The video features her song Like A Prayer, which provoked uproar at the time, notably from Christian institutions such as the Vatican.
The reaction caused Pepsi to withdraw the advertisement, and when it eventually aired yesterday, Madonna thanked them for “finally realising the genius of our collaboration.”
She’s since responded by posting a photo of herself drinking from a Coke can.
‘Also good,’ the Material Girl singer quipped.

Pepsi aired the commercial again during the MTV Video Music Awards on Tuesday night to commemorate the company’s 125th anniversary.
Posting the clip on social media, Madonna shared: ‘34 years ago I made a commercial with Pepsi to celebrate the release of my song Like a Prayer.
‘The commercial was immediately cancelled when I refused to change any scenes in the video where I was kissing a black saint or burning crosses.
‘So began my illustrious career as an artist refusing to compromise my artistic integrity.’

Her post was showered in support, with Diplo writing: ‘This song changed my life.’
