Former Love Island star Zara Holland has revealed that she spent 7 hours trying to convince Amy Hart not to enter the villa before her stint on the show.

Amy, who starred on the 2019 series, approached the former Miss GB during a flight while working as a British Airways flight attendant.

When asked, Zoe tried to persuade her not to apply for the show.

‘I was, like, “Well, from my experience, I would probably advise that you don’t go on,”’ she told The Mirror.

Speaking about their conversation, Zara said: ‘For seven hours, she grilled me on Love Island.’

‘She was like, “Should I do it or not?” I said, “You’ve got the most amazing job.” She was amazing at her job.’

Amy’s time in the villa is remembered for her romance with Curtis Pritchard, before they split in one of the most-quoted moments in the programme’s history.

Before joining Love Island, Amy worked as a member of the cabin crew for eight years.

Recalling the advice she gave her, Zoe added: ‘I said, “If you’re going to go on, be prepared to a) only be in there a couple of days, b) never get your job back.”

As fans of the show will remember, former beauty queen Zara was relieved of her Miss GB title after scenes of her having sexual relations with a fellow contestant on the show were shown on TV back in 2016.

Zoe was hesitant to recommend Amy leave her job and join the villa after her own experiences.

‘She’d worked her way up for years, and she said they’ve said that they would never accept her back. So I was like, “Do you really want that?” She was like, “Yes I do, yes I do.”

The 25-year-old went on to say: ‘I was, like, ‘Well, from my experience, I would probably advise that you don’t go on. I told her my experience very bluntly.’

It comes after Zara also said that she struggles to watch the show following the death of her friend and former Love Island star Sophie Gradon.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
