Love Island star Kaz Kamwi revealed she didn’t feel ‘appreciated’ by her ex-boyfriend and former islander Tyler Cruickshank, which left her questioning if she was ‘good enough.’
The 26-year-old fashion blogger met the estate agent on the hit annual dating series last year and finished in fourth place while Millie Court and Liam Reardon were crowned winners.
However, three months after the finale the couple confirmed their split on Instagram in December 2021.
Speaking in her latest YouTube video, Kaz updated her followers with an honest catch-up and stressed she didn’t ‘fake’ her feelings towards Tyler, despite a number of people sharing their opinions over their relationship.
‘I learned so much from that breakup and period of time,’ she said.
‘At the end of the day some relationships work, and some don’t and this one just didn’t.
‘I was never faking it, I never acted up online for it, I was very much myself and I was how I would be in any other relationship, so I gave my 100 per cent and I don’t think I was fully appreciated but that’s just life.’
Struggling to find the words, she continued: ‘I get it, on one hand everyone is entitled to their opinion that’s fine, and a lot of people saw things that I didn’t see at the time. I was very naïve. It’s okay it’s fine…
‘I have lost a lot of my confidence the last couple of months and trying to gain it back – it’s a journey.’
Kaz appeared in the latest series of Love Island from day one, meanwhile, Tyler made a late entrance, and joined the competition almost three weeks in.
Addressing their break-up in a joint statement on social media, they wrote: ‘We are extremely sad to announce that we have decided to end our romantic relationship.
‘We have had a fantastic journey and we will always have a special bond between us.
‘We will continue to be very much in one another’s lives and support each other in every way.’
They continued by expressing their thanks for their stint on the popular TV show, saying they are ‘so grateful’ that they had the experience together.
‘Life since the villa has been amazing, but it’s taking time to adjust to a new normal in the public eye. This part of the journey hasn’t been easy for us but we’re learning,’ they added.
