Jessie Wynter, a Love Island competitor, has assured supporters that she is ‘fine now’ after being rushed to the hospital while on vacation in the United States.
Jessie, 26, was set to return to her home in Australia following a time away with lover Will Young when she was rejected on Day 56 of this year’s winter Love Island.
Will, 23, was accompanied on the vacation by his Love Island girlfriend after the couple stayed together following their exit from the island, having married on Day 10.
Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan, both 24, were voted winners of the ninth season, beating off runners-up Lana Jenkins and Ron Hall.
Jessie told her followers of the news after ensuring that everything was ‘good now,’ telling them that she was recovering in hospital.
Once she’d explained that she had unexpectedly become unwell on the day before leaving America, she said: ‘Not how we thought the trip would be ending.’
After sharing a photo of her medical bracelet on social media, she got responses from followers who were eager for more information.
Later, Jessie answered with the good news that the worst was presumably behind them: ‘Thanks for the messages! You guys are the sweetest! I’m okay now.’
In between messages to her fans, she took a moment to admire the view of the Chicago cityscape from her hospital room window.
Jessie confirmed a few hours later that she was out of the hospital and ready to go home, first to Los Angeles and then to Australia.
Jesse, on the other hand, didn’t appear excited about the 15-hour travel back to Sydney after a hard and anxious day, sharing a sleepy emoji beside an airport selfie.
Jessie announced earlier this year that she wouldn’t be spending much time with her fellow Love Island competitors when the show ended.
In April, she said: ‘In the villa, everyone applauded our relationship, so when they decided to say we weren’t compatible, I think they knew we were very happy.’
She continued, criticising her villamates’ decision: ‘I think it also was a bit of a cop-out because they could always use the excuse [that I’m from Australia].’
