Ekin-Su Cülcülolu of Love Island was allegedly ‘blindsided’ by her’surprise’ breakup with Davide Sanclimenti.
After winning the £50,000 prize in last year’s summer series, the couple called it quits 11 months later.
Along the way, they offered us some of the show’s most memorable moments, from Ekin-Su’s legendary crawl to Davide’s angry outbursts, such as when he stated his fiancée was “as false as a Louis Vuitton from China.”
Since then, the Turkish influencer and the Italian model have moved in together and even recorded a trip programme together in their respective countries, but they called it quits earlier this week when suspicions of ‘cheating’ surfaced.
Davide made the revelation on his Instagram stories, and while Ekin-Su has yet to publicly respond, it has been claimed that the 28-year-old was taken aback by the shocking news.
A source said: ‘It’s fair to say Ekin is gutted about the split. She has worked really hard to make it work.
‘She has stood by Davide after a series of cheating rumours, and was surprised when he decided to chuck it all in.’
The insider added to The Sun: ‘The pair have been arguing a lot and while Davide is saying it’s a long time coming, Ekin doesn’t feel like that.’
Davide, 27, confirmed the split on Thursday, writing: ‘@ekinsuofficial & I are no longer together.
‘I am grateful for the memories and opportunities we shared together and wish her nothing but the best.’
‘I would like for everybody to respect this decision during this difficult time I will continue to support Ekin in any way possible.’
According to reports in April, the former Dancing On Ice star was ‘fuming and upset’ with the boohooMAN ambassador, after allegedly finding messages on his phone from the models.
However, Ekin-Su and Davide quickly put the adultery accusations to rest when questioned by an Instagram user if they were still together.
