Paige Turley, a former Love Island champion, was ‘barred’ from competing on the All-Stars spin-off series.

Paige and Finn Tapp won the inaugural season of Winter Love Island in 2020, bringing home a £50,000 prize after meeting in the South African villa.

After three years of dating and moving in together, they announced their breakup early last year.

Paige, 26, subsequently signed up for another reality series, Ex On The Beach, which has prevented her from returning for the current Love Island.

The MTV series was taped in October but has yet to premiere.

As a result, she was unable to appear on All-Stars since MTV prohibits candidates from appearing on competitor dating shows before the series airs, which was a tremendous disappointment for Paige, who was eager to participate.

‘Paige is absolutely gutted as she was desperate to do All Stars but there was a clause in the contract with MTV that essentially stopped her from doing so,’ a source has said.

‘It would have been different if Celeb Ex On The Beach had already aired, and she was hoping it might have done by now, but as it’s still to be screened, she’s essentially been blocked from entering the villa.

‘ITV bosses were miffed too, as they would have loved to have Paige back,’ they added when speaking to The Sun.

The source continued: ‘If All Stars returns for another series next Winter, you can pretty much guarantee that, if she is single, she will be in the mix.’

Paige, a Scottish singer who previously dated Lewis Capaldi, and footballer Finn split up in April of last year, and she moved out of the Manchester flat they shared.

A source said: ‘Paige and Finn had a really good run, but they are still super young and decided it wasn’t forever in the end.

‘Paige is spending some time back in Scotland while she works out what she wants to do next.’

The first episode of the All-Star series premiered Sunday night, and several familiar faces returned to the villa.

Georgia Harrison, Liberty Poole, and Toby Aromolaran are among the well-known ex-Islanders who will reprise their roles.

Love Island: All- Stars continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
