Love Island viewers slammed the girls after accusing them of targeting Casey O’Gorman during the latest Snog Marry Pie challenge.
The last several episodes of the successful dating programme have been devoted to the escalating conflict and impending breakup of Casey and Claudia Fogarty’s relationship.
Casey, 26, declared his interest in Rosie Seabrook, 24, after she entered the villa, much to Claudia’s chagrin.
The 26-year-old daughter of I’m A Celebrity winner Carl Fogarty aired her anger to her fellow girlies, who were all there for her during Monday’s nasty task.
The majority of the females, including Tanya Manhenga, Sammie Elishi, and Claudia herself, savaged the recruiting consultant, but Casey was wounded when close friends Tom Clare and Will Young chose to’marry’ Claudia despite pushing Casey to select Rosie.
Fans questioned the behaviour from the girls especially, with one seething: ‘I’m sorry but that episode of #loveIsland was uncomfortable to watch. The girls and Claudia were borderline bullying Casey. I love Claudia but I feel like it’s gone too far now. How come Tanya didn’t get the same treatment off everyone when she done worse to Shaq with Martin?’
‘The way the girls (except Sanam she’s an Angel) are all bullying Rosie because Casey doesn’t like Claudia is crazy,’ another added.
‘I truly hate that Casey is fighting tears because he feels like everyone is against him,’ said a third. It is, in fact, out of order.’
Last year’s Snog Marry Pie game prompted over 1,500 Ofcom complaints as finalist Tasha Ghouri was outraged by the reasons given by Luca Bish and Dami Hope for pieing her in the face.
While many viewers sympathised with Casey, others were relieved to see the Claudia and Casey tale come to a close.
‘The Casey/Claudia storyline is over, WE WON,’ joked one viewer, while another tweeted: Finally this Casey Claudia drama is done with.’
But the issue is whether Claudia will meet newcomer Kenan Brand.
Love Island returns tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
