Medhi Edno’s conduct on Thursday night left Love Island watchers unimpressed, as he accused his girlfriend Whitney Adebayo of forcing another participant to cry.
The ITV 2 reality dating programme saw a dispute in the kitchen between several of the girls in yet another violent start to the second week of the summer series.
Catherine Agbaje and Whitney approached Jess Harding about her obvious disdain for Molly Marsh, claiming she was ‘whispering’ bad things about their fellow islander.
Jess immediately denied having any concerns with the musical theatre actress, assuring the girls that she did not believe Molly was’two-faced,’ and wept tears at the charges.
Following the heated exchange, the group of females immediately diffused the situation, although Whitney’s companion Medhi appeared to be the most upset about the incident.
During a conversation with Whitney, the Frenchman said unequivocally that he was not interested in dating any women who produced drama and chastised the 25-year-old for “making Jess weep.”
The argument lasted all night and into the next day, when the ex-lovers got down for another conversation to clear the air.
Despite her best efforts to explain herself, they ended up no better than when they sat down, and Medhi stormed off, cursing Whitney.
Uttering the sentence: ‘The next time you make someone cry, I’ll come see you direct,’ he made it clear he wasn’t prepared to see Whitney’s point of view until Jess herself addressed the issue with him.
The encounter was quickly discussed on Twitter, with audience members labelling the islander “delusional” and condemning him for getting involved.
One said: ‘“What you are, I don’t want it” Medhi is making me sick. Why is he being so horrible?! [sic].’
Another penned: ‘Medhi did all that with no end game just sassy yasss vibes [sic].’
‘Where is Medhi’s energy coming from? it was like he had already decided what happened before hearing the full story… Whitney deserves better period [sic].’
Following their conversation, the islanders were summoned by text message to participate in a football challenge, in which Whitney locked lips with Zachariah Noble, stating she wanted to see what all the commotion was about.
Love Island continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
