In only a few weeks, Love Island 2023 will apparently return to our screens.
The’start date’ of the popular ITV programme, which will soon be hosted by Maya Jama, 28, who has replaced Laura Whitmore, 37, as host, is just one month after the conclusion of the winter season.
And with the main programme reportedly resuming on Monday, June 5, viewers shouldn’t have too long to wait for their next Love Island hit.
ITV has not yet announced the premiere date, although prior seasons of the venerable programme have always begun on the first Monday in June.
Love Island will begin on June 5, an insider told The Sun, “just as people are getting ready to enjoy their summers.”
‘ITV have already lined up the islanders who will be heading to the show’s villa in Majorca.
‘The cast will fly out late next month ready for the show to begin in just eight weeks.’
The insider also said that Maya was ‘chomping at the bit’ to start filming because the eight-episode series will air.
They explained: ‘Having her on board has given Love Island a real boost and it’s expected that ratings will soar.’
Love Island’s winter season, which was recorded in South Africa, was won by Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan; previous year’s main competition was won by Ekin-Su Cülcülolu and Davide Sanclimenti.
After a stellar start in January, Maya’s return to Love Island will no doubt excite fans.
Responding to fans and thanking them for their support, Maya penned after the first episode: ‘Overwhelmed from last night, thankyou so much for you’re kind words.’
Love Island returns to ITV2 later this year.
