Love Is Blind’s Abishek ‘Shake’ Chatterjee has been banned from the cast group chat, one of his co-stars has revealed.

The 33-year-old became a controversial figure on the show for comments made about women’s bodies and his ex-fiancée Deepti Vempati.

During their time on the reality dating programme on Netflix, Shake made several remarks behind Deepti’s back explaining that he wasn’t attracted to her physically, saying at one point: ‘I’m not physically attracted to her, man. It feels like I’m with my aunt or something.’

He also sparked bewilderment from the women during their time in the pods due to his comments on their bodies as he tried to picture their physiques, especially when he asked if he ‘would be able to lift them on his shoulders during music festivals.’

As if that wasn’t enough, on the reunion show Shake’s co-stars were left pretty annoyed and baffled about comments he made, with host Vanessa Lachey eventually asking if he signed up to the right show.

And now, even after Shake’s public apology to Deepti via Instagram, the veterinarian is still being shunned by his co-stars.

Danielle Ruhl, who married Nick Thompson, told Insider that the cast have cut ties.

‘I’ve had to block him on every single form of social media,’ she said.

‘I don’t even know what’s going on in his life.’

Speaking about her time on the show, and all the other reality TV stars who appeared, she said: ‘Ninety-nine percent of them are amazing people.’

Attempting to defend himself and accusing Netflix of portraying him as a villain, Shake has faced even more backlash online, for which he initially said he was not sorry for the comments he made.

However, a few days after the reunion aired, he seemingly U-turned and posted an apology video on Instagram, writing in the caption: ‘I’m sorry, @lifewithdeeps. I’m ready to take accountability for my actions and be better.

‘While I’ve reached out privately, I think it’s also important I apologize publicly for the sake of your family and friends that I’ve upset as well.’
