Lorraine Kelly has spoken out about the alleged feud between Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield behind the scenes at This Morning.
The host, 63, talked to Holly, 42, and Phil, 61, on her own show yesterday as they announced what was coming up on This Morning following allegations that their friendship had soured over the weekend.
While many anticipated the duo to address the issue, they instead laughed and discussed the day’s headlines, ignoring the fact that they were all over many publications.
‘Do you know what? They were back today and it was business as usual and everyone is just getting on with it,’ Lorraine told The Sun.
‘I would be sad if they left the show but I don’t think that is ever likely to happen and I think they’re just getting on with it,’ she added.
Holly and Pihl were back on This Morning on Tuesday, and there was no mention of the suspicions about their friendship.
Former This Morning anchor Eamonn Holmes slammed them both during his own GB News breakfast programme just hours before they aired yesterday.
‘I think there should’ve been a special award for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby for best actors,’ he told viewers.
‘The public surely have sussed that there’s no chemistry, that there’s a broken fit between the two of them.’
Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary’s succeeded Eamonn and Ruth Langsford as Friday hosts of This Morning, also standing in for Holly and Phil over the school holidays.
Eamonn has expressed his emotions for Phil on various times since then.
Fern Britton, Phil’s former This Morning co-host, said she had a long-overdue catch-up with Eamonn on Monday as well, with many fans assuming the fallout would be the main theme of their talk.
Even at Sunday night’s Baftas, Rob Beckett made light of Holly and Phil’s alleged ‘queue-jumping’ to see the Queen’s closed casket.
Phil, on the other hand, insists the duo are “still best friends.”
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
