Lorraine Kelly didn’t hold back when blasting Britney Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander, calling him an ‘arse’ live on-air and taking several of her viewers by shock.
Yesterday, Britney and her partner of six years, Sam Asghari, were married in a ceremony attended by stars including Madonna, Paris Hilton and Drew Barrymore.
While it sounds as though they enjoyed a fairytale wedding – complete with a Cinderella-esque carriage – the day did suffer a bump in the road when Jason crashed the wedding, trespassing on his ex-wife’s property before being arrested.
Addressing the incident on Friday’s Lorraine, the presenter said: ‘Poor Britney, she can’t even get married and have a lovely time without drama.’
She then added: ‘What a total arse, doing that to Britney!’
Some viewers were taken aback by Lorraine exclaiming ‘arse’ just after 9am on the morning on live TV, with one tweeting: ‘#Lorraine said ARSE!!’
‘Lorraine Calling someone an Arse…,’ someone else commented, while another more critical viewer wrote: ‘Lorraine saying Arse at 9:02 am. Who does she think she is? Disgusting behaviour!’
‘@GMB #lorraine did she just swear on live TV? She called Britney Spears first husband an arse, unacceptable for someone supposed to be a role model,’ another quipped.
Jason was married to Britney for a grand total of 55 hours in 2004, after the pair had a whirlwind wedding in Las Vegas.
It was reported that on the day of Britney’s wedding to Sam, he approached event security, claiming he’d received an invite to attend from the singer.
Livestreaming his intrusion, he made it inside the property, before it was claimed that he had a physical altercation with security.
He has since been charged with four misdemeanours, including trespassing and battery.
Britney and Sam first met in 2016, after meeting on the set of a music video.
The couple announced their engagement in September 2021, two months before the Toxic singer’s conservatorship came to an end.
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
