Loose Women’s Kelle Bryan recalls giving ex-boyfriend bank card amid Tindler Swindler debate

Loose Women star Kelle Bryan has recalled how she helped out an ex-boyfriend financially when she was ‘young, dumb and in love’.

The former Eternal singer joined her Loose Women co-hosts in a discussion about the hit Netflix documentary Tinder Swindler, which reveals how Simon Leviev conned several women out of money while claiming to be the son of a billionaire.

Drawing on her own experience, Kelle said: ‘I was in a relationship with somebody and we were of an equal pegging, so there was no problem in terms of money at the beginning but once that person fell out of their job, I began to support that person financially.

‘In coercive relationships, it’s about being separate from those who can speak any sense to you, so they isolate you from your family, your friends, and then you become pretty much in their control.’

Kelle explained how she gave her former partner a bank card because she didn’t want them to feel ‘emasculated by having to ask [her] for money’.

Defending her decision, the singer said: ‘I know, before anybody tweets me, I don’t want to hear it.

‘I’m telling you now straight up and up front — I don’t want to hear it. Because, until you’ve walked a mile in that person’s shoes, you don’t know what that experience is and you don’t know what the person’s gone through.

‘Yes I did it, I did it for reasons that, I was young, dumb and in what I thought was love.’

However, the Hollyoaks actress was actually bombarded with messages of support from viewers, with one commenting: ‘As @kellebryan talked about on @loosewomen today, economic abuse is a very real thing … and victims should not be labelled naive as it could happen to anyone.’

Another said: ‘@kellebryan just saw you on loose women. Thank you for telling your story. I was also that intelligent woman…..for 8 years…..those guys just know how to play the game.’

Tinder Swindler tells the shocking story of how Simon – real name Shimon Hayut – conned three women out of thousands of pounds.

Cecilie Fjellhøy, Ayleen Koeleman, Pernilla Sjoholm all starred in the damning documentary exposing Hayut, who scammed women he met on Tinder to fund his billionaire lifestyle.

But it was Koeleman who eventually managed to bring Hayut down for good, as she managed to share details of a flight he was on with Interpol police.

The Tinder Swindler is available to watch on Netflix.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV.
