Coleen Nolan of Loose Women claims she was not asked to compete on Strictly Come Dancing for one reason.
The new series has begun with a bang, with Love Island‘s Zara McDermott and EastEnders’ Bobby Brazier taking to the dancefloor.
Coleen’s co-stars, including Judi Love and Kaye Adams, have already battled for the glitterball trophy, but she has never had the opportunity to impress judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, or Anton Du Beke.
Instead, the 58-year-old appeared on Dancing On Ice in 2009, which has led her to believe she has not been invited to Strictly.
She explained: ‘It’s because I did Dancing On Ice, I’ve never done Strictly, which devastates me.
‘Since that show started, I’ve always wanted to do Strictly, and so many Loose Women have done it, but they never ever ask me.
‘But it’s because apparently, I did Dancing On Ice, they don’t have anyone who’s done Dancing On Ice on Strictly.’
Coleen continued to The Mirror: ‘Had I have known that was the rule, I might not have done Dancing on Ice but they didn’t ask me then either.
‘But yes, Strictly is brilliant but I’ve kind of scrubbed it out of my bucket list because I know it’s not going to happen.’
Coleen’s Strictly co-star Judi has previously commented about her experience on the show, telling Metro.co.uk that people ‘don’t comprehend the effort’ that goes into it.
Judi was questioned about the challenge while speaking on the red carpet at the 2022 Ethnicity Awards, and she described it as ‘amazing.’
‘I appreciate it more now that I did it last year,’ she admitted.
‘It’s an amazing show, and you watch people’s skills grow week by week.
‘I don’t think people understand how much dedication is put into being in that show – in front of the camera and behind the camera as well.’
She added: ‘There’s so many of them that are amazing, obviously my girl Kaye was in there and she did phenomenal.’
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday on BBC One and iPlayer.
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV1.
