Kylie Minogue to join BBC comedy Ghosts for special Red Nose Day sketch

Kylie Minogue will be joining the cast of the hit comedy Ghosts for Red Nose Day 2022, it has been confirmed.

The Australian actress and singer, 53, will team up with the cast of the BBC comedy for a one-off sketch for the fundraiser.

Ghosts charts young couple Mike (Kiell Smith-Bynoe) and Alison (Charlotte Ritchie) as they move into the very haunted Button House, which she has inherited.

Things go peacefully until Alison is pushed out of the window by the mischievous ghost of a former politician, Julian Fawcett (Simon Farnaby) and develops psychic abilities after hitting her head.

The couple then muddle along with their other-worldly flatmates in the home, with various hilarious consequences.

Kylie is set to join the cast for a very special sketch for Red Nose Day, but it is as yet unknown what her role will involve and which of the ghosts will feature in the clip with her.

The comedy series proved to be such a hit that a US version of the show aired on CBS last autumn.

The UK series, which is written and performed by many of the cast members of Horrible Histories and Yonderland, first aired in 2019 and has run for three series so far.

Red Nose Day will take place on Friday, March 18, and the line-up of special programming has been revealed.

The night will feature a mix of sketches, live performances and one-off specials, including a Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders reunion, as well as Jack Whitehall playing golf with football stars.

Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day is an annual fundraiser which campaigns to end child poverty.

Red Nose Day airs on BBC One on Friday, March 18.
