Kirstie Allsopp has hit out at Gogglebox, calling it the ‘worst form’ of television.

The Location, Location, Location star called the show ‘mean’ and dismissed it as ‘not entertainment’.

‘One of my least favourite TV shows is Gogglebox,’ she told My Weekly magazine.

‘It’s the worst form of mean, cruel television. It’s one thing to talk about people in private but to put it in a public space is not entertainment.’

It’s not the first time Kirstie has taken issue with Gogglebox.

She previously called it ‘stomach-churning’ after her show Kirstie’s Crafty Christmas was skewered by viewers on the show.

Meanwhile, the Gogglebox family shared their respects after former star Pete McGarry died from cancer just days after being told he had six months to live.

The 71-year-old passed away at his home in Essex over the weekend, surrounded by his family, including wife Linda.

It comes after Kirstie had a surgical takedown of a man on social media who demanded she ‘shut up’ about lockdown guidelines.

The TV star has not been exactly shy about giving her opinions on lockdown guidelines, which has caused some robust debate on social media.

She previously expressed confusion about the roadmap out of lockdown and the effect it would have on those who may be planning funerals.

She wrote, along with an emoji of a face with rolling eyes: ‘So now anyone planning a funeral is likely to try and wait until the 17th May so they can have the amount of mourners they want.

‘But let’s stick with dates not data, ‘cos that makes so much sense.’

One follower who took issue with her comments posted bluntly under the tweet: ‘Oh shut up’.

Quote-tweeting his complaint to her 427,000 followers Kirstie, 49, said: ‘Dear Rick, you follow me. If you don’t like what I am saying unfollow me.

The TV presenter also previously vowed to boycott shops and pubs if the UK introduces vaccine passports amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
