Dancing On Ice finalist Kimberly Wyatt has revealed that the show helped reignite the spark in her marriage and provided her with confidence.

The former Pussycat Doll married her husband Max Rogers in 2014, and now the pair have three children together.

Speaking to The Sun, Kimberly explained that although the show can be ‘hard’ on a marriage, as well as after a decade of babies and breastfeeding, her skates have helped her fall in love all over again.

She said: ‘You know, Max fell in love with me because he saw me on stage dancing and he was just, like… he loves what I do.

‘So to re-spark that love and remind us of where we started… as hard as this experience could be on a marriage, my husband has been unbelievable and supportive, and I can’t wait to run back into his arms and when the final is over, sort of respark our lives.

‘That girl is still there.’

She added that, despite becoming a full-time mum during her 30s, her confidence has come back as she performs again, and turns 40 on the ice.

Admitting that she never thought her abs would come back after having a cesarean, which left her with ‘body insecurities’ and ‘vulnerabilities’, she now feels more confident.

‘Having turned 40 on the ice, and having the rest of our lives to look forward to in a space where I feel confident is a nice place to be.

‘It’s just really given me a whole new lease of life.’

She added that she feels like her ‘little six-year-old self’ is on stage with her, looking back at her life as a dancer.

Kimberly and her skating partner Mark Hanretty will be going up against fan favourite Regan Gascoigne (also known as the son of former England footballer Paul Gascoigne) paired with pro skater Karina Manta, and last but not least, Strictly Come Dancing professional Brendan Cole with Vanessa Bauer.

After an epic season of so many tumbles and injuries, memorable moments including Bez and his controversial Meat Loaf tribute (remember that?!), and an incredible performance by Oti Mabuse with judges Christoper Dean and Jayne Torvill, thousands of viewers will be tuning in for the final this Sunday.

Last year, radio presenter Sonny Jay beat Coronation Street star Faye Brookes to take home the Dancing On Ice 2021 trophy.

They were tasked with performing their own Bolero routine inspired by Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean’s iconic Olympics performance, with fans being blown away by their efforts.

The final saw him nab his first 10s of the series as he performed a routine to a George Formby medley, with Sonny and his skating partner Angela Egan then achieving a perfect score of 40 for his Popeye themed skate.

The Dancing On Ice 2022 Finale will airs on Sunday, March 27 on ITV at 6.30pm.
