Kim Cattrall is still throwing shade at Sex and The City despite her upcoming cameo in the reboot, And Just Like That.
Coming up in the panned And Just Like That, which somehow gets even worse in in season two, Cattrall will be repressing her role as PR guru Samantha Jones, despite insisting she would never go near the revival.
Still, she’s not pretending to have done any U-turns, as she seemed to take another shot at the shelved script for a third Sex and The City movie, which was dropped after Catrall, 66, refused to sign on.
On Wednesday, writer Evan Ross Katz published a photo of singer Shakira wearing a white garment which had a large three-dimensional ‘NO’ bursting out of the breast, with the caption: ‘Kim Cattrall after reading the SEX AND THE CITY 3 script.’
And it sounds as though Katz wasn’t far off as she actually replied: ‘Ha!’
Cattrall previously dubbed the Sex and The City 3 screenplay ‘heartbreaking’ revealing at one point in the movie Samantha received ‘unwanted d**k pics’ from Miranda’s 14-year-old son Brady.
‘Why can’t Samantha, who owns her PR company — maybe she had to sell it because of financial woes? 2008 was tough. Some people are still recovering,’ Cattrall fumed to Variety.
‘She had to sell it to some guy who’s wearing a hoodie, and that’s the dilemma she has. I mean that’s a scenario that was kind of off the top of one of my reps’ heads, and I thought that’s a great idea. That’s a conflict. Instead of an underage boy’s …’
She added, ‘I would have preferred for all of us to have some kind of event to warrant a third film. That didn’t happen. But also, I was ready. And this is exactly what I wished for: to be in different places playing different characters because I’m a character actress.’
When And Just Like That was released in 2021, Cattrall stated that she had heard it was “essentially the third movie.”
‘That’s how creative it was,’ she sighed.
For her upcoming appearance, Cattrall did not film any sequences with her old Sex and the City co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, or Kristin Davis.
According to Harry Goldenblatt star Evan Handler, her return was ‘shot in a garage somewhere with no contact with anybody’.
He didn’t seem to miffed about it though. The only place I have to welcome her is into my living room when it airs on television,’ he said.
