Warning: Spoilers for Killing Eve season 4 to follow.

Killing Eve star Kim Bodnia revealed the cast and crew managed to get around tricky Covid restrictions, so they could travel to locations such as Cuba without even leaving the UK.

The first episode was released on BBC iPlayer on Monday, with fans across the world delighted to find out the fate of Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh) and Villanelle (Jodie Comer) after a pretty romantic ending in season three.

Villanelle’s mentor and father figure Konstantin Vasiliev (Kim Bodnia) also returned with a political career in his sights and was nearly met with a grim end from Eve herself, moments into the premiere.

While chatting about what was to come in the dramatic series finale, actor Kim revealed some clever tricks used by production as they weren’t able to globetrot quite so much as in previous outings.

While fans will see their favourite characters travel across Europe – and the world – the star explained every single part of the drama was filmed in the UK amid Covid restrictions.

This meant that while the cast couldn’t physically jet set in the style of previous seasons, they were able to immerse themselves in the different locations up and down the UK without even stepping on a plane.

Chatting to Metro.co.uk, the actor said: ‘They made us travel here in in the UK. I’ll tell you what, you have so many beautiful places, and places I have never known existed here in the UK. It was surprising also for many of the workers have not travelled so much inside UK.

‘It’s so beautiful and it’s like really a journey from when you stay in London and then you go down South and you have these beaches with sand and you could be anywhere if you set it up, right, and we did that.

‘We made some illusion that we were in Cuba and travelling around the world. And you know what? It looks fantastic. It looks great.’

Some upcoming scenes for the show were filmed in Margate, posing as beach scenes later on in the series, with other locations used including Oxford and London.

Kim went on to explain: ‘When you’re shooting, when you get the right equipment, you get the right surrounding around you, it’s so funny that it works. It’s like magic, it’s like being in a studio and you’re still in the UK.
