Katherine Ryan brought up her remarks regarding Russell Brand on Wednesday.
The 40-year-old comedian, whose past comments about Brand surfaced during his sexual assault claims, made a public appearance on Wednesday at the RTS Cambridge.
Ryan addressed the ‘elephant in the room’ on stage during the bash.
According to MailOnline, the adoring mother then joked that the ‘elephant’ she was referring to was her ‘two-stone weight reduction’ and didn’t mention Brand again.
After rape and abuse charges against Brand, 48, were made public last week, former Ryan statements began to circulate online.
She is believed to have made charges against Brand while they were both working on Comedy Central’s Roast Battle in 2018.
During the programme, the panel took shots at one other, with the Canadian comic supposedly leaving the St Trinians actor “furious.”
Her remark, which was never broadcast, was reportedly: ‘I will remind you of it if any victims come out.’
Brand was only a judge for that season, and was replaced by Jonathan Ross the next year.
In a prior interview with Louis Theroux, Ryan also mentioned an anonymous ‘predator’ known to comedians to be active in the profession.
She shared that she had called them as much to their face but called her discussion with the documentarian a ‘litigious minefield’.
‘It’s not really my story to tell,’ she told Theroux. ‘No one has perpetrated any sexual assault against me.
‘I, in front of loads of people, in the format of the show said to this person’s face that they are a predator.’
In a collaborative investigation with The Times, Brand was accused of rape, emotional abuse, and sexual assault by multiple women in a Channel 4 special edition of Dispatches.
The Get Him to the Greek actor has angrily disputed the charges, claiming in a YouTube video posted before the programme aired that all interactions were consensual.
