This Morning viewers were left completely perplexed as Josie Gibson carried out an investigation into supposed ‘Bigfoot sightings’ in Kent… with one describing it as ‘totally pointless and stupid’.
Throughout history, many myths and legends have fascinated human beings, from the Loch Ness Monster in Scotland to ghost encounters.
But the idea of Bigfoot showing up in Kent proved a bit too far a stretch for many This Morning viewers to believe.
On Thursday’s edition of the ITV programme, Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary watched as Josie – who last week suffered a spectacular fall into water live on camera – spoke to a woman who claimed to have seen Bigfoot lurking nearby.
After joking that Bigfoot sounded like ‘her sort of guy’, as he’s supposed to be ‘over eight-foot tall, hairy’ and he ‘acts like a wild animal’, Josie heard from the interviewee, who said she spotted the creature during winter.
Alison could be seen laughing as the woman recollected her encounter, while Dermot just stared at the camera in a state of bewilderment.

Josie then turned to ‘beast expert’ Andy McGrath, who said that while he believes Bigfoot is real, he thinks the creature is more of a ‘US phenomenon’.
The camera kept zooming in on the bushes, seemingly in the hope that Bigfoot would take it upon himself to pop out.
Despite Josie’s enthusiasm, This Morning viewers weren’t bowled over by the segment, with some expressing their view that it was ‘childish’.
‘How old do they think their average audience is? Get in the bin!’ one person tweeted.
‘How is Josie keeping a straight face?’ someone asked, while another remarked: ‘Oh this is too funny to be real.’
One viewer tweeted: ‘#ThisMorning gets more childish by the day,’ with someone else stating: ‘This IS a p*** take isn’t it?’
Bigfoot, a mythical creature that some believe hails from North America, is said to have an ape-like physique.
The legends surrounding Bigfoot, who is also known as Sasquatch, date back hundreds of years and will no doubt continue… unless Josie spots him first, of course.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
